Photographed in Philadelphia, USA, in 1986 and published 24 years later, Ishikawa became good friends with Myron Carr, a black American soldier he met in Koza (Okinawa) in 1975, and travelled alone to the USA to visit him. He stayed for several months and photographed the people and towns around him. Their free-spirited lifestyle is still fresh and surprisingly alive today.

1986年アメリカ、フィラデルフィアで撮影され、24年の時を経て写真集と なった。75年にコザ(沖縄)で出会った黒人米兵マイロン・カーと親友になり、石川は彼を訪ね単身アメリカへ渡った。数ヶ月滞在し周辺の人々や 街の様子を撮影。自由奔放に生きる彼らの姿は、今なお新鮮で、驚くほどに生きている。
